5. Describe more about the location of the bees ie. where they have settled, are they hard to get at etc.

6. Let us know how long the bees have been in that location

7. Give us a convenient time to come and collect the honey bee swarm or eliminate the wasps whichever is relevant to you.

8. Ideally removal should be done as soon as possible to prevent the bees making a more permanent home in your property

9. Keep your distance until we are able to come to you

Honeybee Swarms

There are many reasons why honeybees swarm. The most common being when they’ve outgrown their current home. When bees swarm they are very unlikely (in most cases) to sting or attack, in fact when they swarm like this they are generally docile with no nest or hive to defend.

Settled Honeybee Colonies:

Only beekeepers with training and professional equipment are able to remove bee colonies effectively and safely. Swarms which have not been dealt with quickly often take up more permanent residency. There are a number of common places to find a bee colony Including:

• In a chimney
• In a shed
• In a compost heap
• Underground
• Cavities in wall
• Inside a tree
• Eaves
