This is one for anyone interested in bees, design and cocktails… The Honey Club is a fantastic initiative involving expanding a network of bee-caring communities in urban spaces. Last night I attended a private view for their exhibition Beetopia at the Guardian in Kings Cross, London.
The exhibition brings together 25 top illustrators from across Europe who were invited to depict Beetopia – a community or society possessing highly desirable or perfect qualities for bees and human beings.
Twenty professional illustrators and five young artists from the Global Generators partnered with designers from brand consultancy and Honey Club founding member Wolff Olins to create illustrations for the exhibition.
The exhibition is on view at the Guardian Gallery (90 York Way London N1 9AG) Daily, 9am-7pm Monday, 04 August – Sunday, 17 August 2014. Each work was made exclusively for the exhibition and is being auctioned online. Proceeds will directly support artists and the Honey Club and its mission to evolve and expand a network of bee caring communities in urban spaces.
Local Kings Cross restaurants are getting involved and will be donating £1 from every Beetopia inspired cocktail to The Honey Club to support new events and initiatives. And, may I say they look delicious! Take a peek here
